PROFESSIONAL WORKSHOPS

TRAUMATIC INCIDENT REDUCTION WORKSHOP  (4 Days)

This workshop is for individuals who provide support, education, administration, intervention, and treatment in the field of traumatic stress.

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
Traumatic Incident Reduction is a simple but systematic and focused anamnestic (memory-recovering) technique for permanently reducing or eliminating the effects of traumatic events.  Once a person has used TIR to fully and calmly view a painful memory, life events no longer trigger it and cause symptoms.  This workshop describes the conditions necessary to create a safe space in which such intensive clearing can occur and prevent secondary trauma (compassion fatigue) among helping professionals.  Through theory and practical exercises, workshop participants will have working knowledge of how to apply Traumatic Incident Reduction procedures successfully with clients.
TIR is unique:
It is client centered.  The client directs the areas that he or she wants to work on, at a speed that is comfortable.
It is open-ended.  The TIR session ends at a point of resolution so the client does not leave the session processing traumatic material.
It is non-evaluative.  The TIR facilitator does not evaluate, interpret, diagnose or reframe the client's experience.
It leads to spontaneous client-generated insights.  Profound insights and realizations are gained through a unique unlayering process.

TIR EXPANDED APPLICATIONS WORKSHOP (3 -4 Days)

Prerequisite:  Traumatic Incident Reduction Workshop

TIR Expanded Applications Workshop consolidates knowledge and skills gained in the first workshop and goes on from there to add an array of new tools to the facilitator's repertoire.  New methods taught in this workshop will benefit a wide range of clients, from those who are fragile/low ego strength to very high-functioning people.
Objectives:

As demonstrated through examination and supervised activities, the student will be able to:
·         Describe appropriate techniques to prepare a client who is not yet ready for TIR
·         Demonstrate understanding of the theory and practice of remedial techniques
·         Demonstrate ability to create a basic case plan using the techniques learned to this point
Also Learn:
·         The application of TIR to specialized circumstances such as addiction and anxiety about future events
·         Use of TIR to address complex and long term traumas
·         To address a wide range of client concerns, using a variety of techniques

The new techniques learned in this workshop can be used to prepare a client for TIR, to build up ego strength (ability to face life) and develop the client's capacity to successfully address specific areas of life.  These techniques also allow a practitioner to write a case plan that is more varied and interesting to a client than one containing only TIR and Unblocking. In addition to providing new tools, this workshop expands the use of TIR itself to fit more situations.

The TIR  Expanded Applications Workshop results in greatly increased confidence and certainty in using TIR and related techniques and provides for the practitioner with the ability to address and resolve a much wider range of human difficulties and preoccupations, including distractions that make it hard for the client to settle comfortably into the role of a viewer.

LIFE STRESS REDUCTION TECHNIQUES AND CASE PLANNING WORKSHOP (3 - 4 Days)

Prerequisite:  Traumatic Incident Reduction Workshop

The Life Stress Reduction Techniques and Case Planning Workshop is part of the larger subject of Applied Metapscyhology. ·         Demonstrate the ability to use new techniques effectively
·         Demonstrate ability to create case plans using all the techniques learned up to this point
